Prior to Life3, Ricky completed his scholarship bond with the Singapore Armed Forces overseeing the policy and management of the critical supplies. He subsequently worked at Hendon Energy’s international trading desk, covering the physical and OTC commodities market. He self-funded Life3 and have received support from the local government agencies to scale up the business. Ricky holds Bachelor of Science from the National University of Singapore.
Apart from work, Ricky actively contributes to the local and international community over the last 10 years. As a Youth executive committee’s Chairman under People’s Association Youth Movement, he led his team to break the Guinness World Record through a non-stop 2 days baking project to create the world’s largest cupcake mosaic as a mark of Singapore’s National Day in 2012. The event generated tremendous publicity and funds for charity. Currently, he serves as a District Councillor to Mayor in South East Community Development Council as well as the Vice-Chairman for SG Health Committee.
Brought up in the family of street food hawkers, Ricky understood what it was like to experience financial difficulties during his childhood days and he takes nothing for granted; he firmly believes in championing changes through innovation and collaboration, similar to how Singapore has established itself from a third world country to a first world nation in over 50 years.
