Maureen co-found Vesl, a young startup with a big mission to close the trade finance gap and bring equal opportunities for trade to businesses worldwide by offering trade credit insurance in a simple and more affordable way. Vesl is accelerated by Startupbootcamp Fintech in Singapore, and is the first and only Philippine startup that made it through. Maureen has previously worked in many areas of banking and later structured trade finance deals with major banks like Standard Chartered and Rabobank while working at Czarnikow Group in London. Coming from a family of sugar planters and traders, she found her calling in trade finance. Maureen graduated with a bachelor’s degree in management of financial institutions in De La Salle University Manila and a master’s degree in financial management from Vlerick Business School in Brussels.
