Han Sang-Uh (“Sang”) currently serves as the Managing Director for Temasek Lifesciences Accelerator, established in 2016 for the purpose of commercializing research originating from or making use of advanced science & intellectual property of Temasek Life Sciences Laboratory, in the areas of “farm-tech”, synthetic biology, and human/veterinary sciences. He has over 19 years of experience in venture capital investments, alternative asset management, and start-up operations in geographies spanning Southeast Asia, Korea, and the US.
Sang was formerly with Vertex Ventures Holdings, a venture capital investment group wholly-owned by Temasek Holdings. Prior to Vertex, he served as Senior Vice-President for North Asia Investment Corporation, an NYSE-AMEX listed SPAC (Special Purpose Acquisition Company) that was managed by Kang & Company, a Korean investment firm. From 2005 to 2008, Han served at Walden International, a US-based global venture capital firm. Prior to this, he served in a variety of capacities, including Chief Technology Officer and advisor, with @Dream Co., a Korean online entertainment and business software company, and as Senior Manager in charge of international operations for Linux International, Inc., an open-source software company in Korea.
Sang received a B.S. in Computer Science from Seoul National University and an M.B.A. from INSEAD.
