Co-Founder, Evie AI
Praveen Velu is co-founder of deep technology startup Evie.ai and has been with the company since October 2015. Since then, the company has gone on to develop the first commercially available AI scheduling assistant, Evie. Headquartered in Singapore, Praveen oversees the company’s overall vision, strategy, culture and growth initiatives. With over 9 years working in various regional roles for global media and technology companies, Praveen brings a breadth of experience spanning from business development, partnerships, content development and digital marketing. Motivated by the growing struggle with administrative tasks they were experiencing, Praveen and co-founder Jin Hian Lee, were driven to find a solution that would improve this increasingly painful workplace condition. Through Evie, they have introduced an accessible AI solution that not only helps the workforce take care of the busywork, it also provides professionals with more time to focus on the things that matter. Before starting joining Evie.ai, Praveen was Head of Network Development in Asia for Maker Studios, a subsidiary of The Walt Disney Company. Praveen was a member of the founding team in Asia where he led global and regional campaigns for socially driven clients and launched the first Maker Bootcamp in partnership with the government of Singapore for aspiring online content creators in Asia. Prior to that, Praveen was the Business Development Lead for Yahoo! in Southeast Asia, where he met his co-founder Jin. During his time there, Praveen worked across different agendas including media development, content acquisition and partnerships management where he was responsible for multi-million dollar budgets and negotiated strategic partnerships across the region. Praveen graduated with a Master’s in Legal and Political Theory from University College London, and holds a Bachelor of Arts (with First Class Honors) in Political Science from the University of Melbourne.
MD of Asia, WeWork
Christian Lee currently serves as Managing Director, WeWork Asia, including Greater China, India, Korea, and Southeast Asia. In this capacity, he manages all aspects of WeWork’s operations in Asia and is responsible for scaling the local teams, developing partnership and growth opportunities, growing the location portfolio, and ensuring the continuity of WeWork’s signature culture, product and community across the region.
Before assuming this role in 2017, Lee served as the Head of Global Development for WeWork, where he was responsible for both corporate development and international expansion. Prior to that he was the Chief Financial Officer of WeWork, where he oversaw all finance functions for the company, including Accounting, Treasury, Financial Planning & Analysis, Internal Audit, Tax, and M&A. In these roles he was was heavily involved in both raising capital and creating strategic partnerships in Asia, including the investment by Hony Capital and partners into WeWork Global, the company’s partnership with Embassy to allow WeWork to scale rapidly in India, the equity investment into WeWork China by Hony Capital and SoftBank, and the investment in various entities globally by SoftBank. He has also developed partnerships with numerous companies in China and elsewhere in Asia to expand WeWork’s presence across the region.
Prior to WeWork, he served as Senior Vice President, Head of Corporate Development for Time Warner Cable where he oversaw all acquisitions, divestitures, investments, and joint ventures across TWC’s businesses and new business initiatives, including the spin-off of TWC from Time Warner Inc, numerous acquisitions and investments, and the merger with Charter Communications.
Before working at Time Warner Cable he worked as a Director in the Finance & Acquisitions department at Time Warner Inc. and prior to that he worked as an Associate in the Investment Bank at Citigroup. He received an MBA from Columbia Business School and a BA in International Relations from Carleton College.

Prior to GA, Aziza worked on market expansion in emerging markets in Asia and building partnerships with governments, international development organizations, and stakeholders invested in advancing education and economic growth in emerging Asian economies.
She is passionate about education and economic empowerment. She loves exploring innovative methods and tools for teaching and learning, and is especially intrigued by initiatives that plug the gap between education and employment.
